MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO VOTE!!!

Thanks to YOUR efforts, LITTLE WOMEN came in THIRD for total nominations on the Broadway.com annual Audience Awards. Thank you for helping get us recognized- Now you can vote for us as official nominees in those 7 categories! Of course, they'll want you to vote in all the categories- even those that we weren't in! Go ahead! We'll wait right here for you to finish!

Now, if you haven't had your fill of voting, this next one is more complicated!

BROADWAYWORLD.COM has their own contest- and EVERY POSSIBLE NOMINEE is listed in each category! So, instead of simply (for example) voting for Maureen McGovern as Best Featured Actress in a Musical, all FIVE of our "non-Sutton" women are listed! So, pick your favorite March woman, and VOTE THE LITTLE WOMEN WAY!!!

(If I may editorialize for a moment: While I would love to see Maureen win the "Featured" category, I don't want to see any of the LITTLE WOMEN women end up on the bottom of the chart! If Maureen should find herself in a comfortable lead, then vote for one of our other deserving ladies! They are all so good!

Unlike B'way.com, B'wayWorld DOES have design categories! It's great, and they deserve the recognition, but it gets confusing when some of our designers are listed FOUR TIMES (for other shows, as well)! So, as you are looking to vote for the LITTLE WOMEN team, make sure you pick the correct listing for that designer! Luckily, it lists the show as well as the creative person, so you just need to hunt down "LITTLE WOMEN" among Cathy and Ken's many nominations!

Up, up and away!!!

Hi All-

What do those folks behind LITTLE WOMEN have for you after every matinee?

Here's some clues:

It's red.

It's round.

Do you know yet? The answer is way over your head!!!

It's your very own LITTLE WOMEN BALLOON!!! Come see the show any afternoon, and take a balloon with you when you go!

Whether you leave toward the left or the right, you'll be offered a bright shiny reminder of the show you just saw!

What better way is there to get the attention of the cast as you wait by the stage door for an autograph or picture? I can't think of one!

Also, if you tie it to the wrist of a loved one, they'll be easier to find...

...unless you're in a crowd of LITTLE WOMEN fans! Then you might want to have a back-up plan!!!

So come on by the Virginia Theatre for a visit with LITTLE WOMEN some afternoon, and be sure to grab a balloon to remember us by!

CD SIGNING!!!

Hi All-

The pictures are back from the developers, and boy, did we have a great turnout for a great event!

As you can see, they were lining up along the street to get their copies signed!

Inside, we were busy getting underway-

Here, Jason Howland gets help setting up the signage from his daughter Nina (and a little more help from producer Randall Wreghitt, as well)!

A few celebrities stopped by to enjoy the music:

Here, Kathie Lee Gifford congratulates long-time pal Maureen McGovern, who initially came out to sign in full Marmee regalia!

Julie Halston (in the white cap), currently starring in HAIRSPRAY came by to greet our cast!

Mary Bond Davis (of HAIRSPRAY), Janet Carroll (of LITTLE WOMEN) and MATTHEW MORRISON (of LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA) all pose for Broadway.com!

There were plenty of non-celebrity fans in attendance as well-

They snaked through the lobby...

...and up past the box office- and you already saw them waiting outside on the sidewalk! Hundreds of patient fans, all excited to get their CDs signed!

For everyone, we had "I BLOG FOR LITTLE WOMEN" buttons, which we had a crack team distributing:

Producer Scott Frieman recruited his three sons to help pass out the buttons. Not only did they do their job enthusiastically, but they work cheap!

Our cast had to work those pens, but they had fun the whole time! Here, we see Megan, Sutton and John in the forefront (and more of them down the line!)

Understudy Larissa Shukis had it easy- She got to watch all the activity without her hands getting cramps!

When all was said and done, there were few left standing, but all left with their signed CDs, and the happy memory of this fun event! Go rest your weary fingers, Janet, Danny & Maureen!

CD selling like hot cakes!!!

Did you know that the Little Women cast album was number 2 at Amazon.com yesterday, and that AC ordered an additional 1100 cds, Tower ordered 1,000 and we got a great review at TalkinBroadway.com. Little Women is selling as many records as Spamalot without the promotional support.

Maureen Wows at POWWOW

Maureen McGovern wowed attendees at the 37th Annual POWWOW Conference (a travel industry association event) held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. Maureen sang "Days of Plenty" for 6,000 people at the Broadway by Day event on Friday, May 6, 2005. In addition to Maureen's performance, the attendees saw a 30 second montage of the show. It is also noteworthy that "Little Women-the musical" was the only new Broadway show represented at this years conference.

Award Season Begins!!!

Hi All-

As most of you know, the theatre awards season is upon us- Already Sutton was nominated for an Outer Circle Critics award, and Sutton, Maureen and our orchestrator Kim Scharnberg were all nominated for Drama Desk awards! Congrats one and all!

This year, Broadway.com is doing their nomations a little different- Readers (like YOU!) get to pick whose nominated in each category before the final voting takes place! So from now until May 10th, YOU can vote for LITTLE WOMEN in all sorts of categories! Simply go to http://www.broadway.com/_AA/AA_Vote.aspx

and start voting for this beautiful show!

Broadway.com has put together the most fun collection of categories- Including Favorite Breakout Performance, Favorite Song (ALL OF OUR SINGS ARE LISTED; How do I choose?!?), and Favorite Diva Performance (NO, BLOGGER TOM wasn't nominated!)- You're sure to get a kick out of voting!

(If B'way.com is listening: next time, include design awards! I'd love for you to recognize the talents of our people behind the scenes!)

What I really like about their categories is they have most EVERYONE listed who qualifies in that particular group; So in the "Favorite On-Stage Pair", you have Sutton and Danny; Sutton and John; AND Sutton and Megan (not to mention Jenny and Jim)! Since you get to choose 5 nominees for the category, you can pick all four LITTLE WOMEN choices and still have room for one more from another show!

I also like that it appears every cast member eligible in a given category is listed- and since I can choose 5, I didn't have to make a choice between all the wonderful women on stage at the Virginia Theatre! The whole LITTLE WOMEN team filled out my choices for "Favorite Featured Actress in A Musical"!!!

Now, as much as we would LOVE to see LITTLE WOMEN get every nomination possible, DON'T try to stack the voting by using multiple e-mail addresses! The system they are using can recognize multiple entries coming from the same computer, and will eliminate them! So if both you and a sibling want to vote, do so- but from different computers! Otherwise you'll cancel each other out!

CD is out MAY 3rd, and SIGNED on MAY 7th!!!

Hi Everyone-

Just went to Amazon.com, and saw our cast recording of LITTLE WOMEN in the TOP 100- and it's still just a pre-order! Imagine how high it can go once it's really available?!?

Well, I hear it IS available at the Virginia Theatre- and if you are in the neighborhood on MAY 7th, head on over to West 52nd Street about 4:30, and have your copy of the CD signed by the cast!

Yes, there will be a CD SIGNING EVENT right at the theatre between performances on SATURDAY, MAY 7th- So come for the matinee, and stay for an autograph or two! Or come early for the evening show, and spend some quality time with the March Family! Either way, you'll be glad you did!

If you haven't picked up a copy of the CD before, they will be available for purchase at the theatre... but I might run out and get one ahead, just to make sure they don't run out!

See you on the 7th! I'll be the person with the autographed cast recording of LITTLE WOME THE MUSICAL!!!
