Anyone who has seen the show knows how hard the actor playing Jo is working.  She carries the show on her back basically all the way through.  Having played Jean Valjean (finally got it on the page, Miniarik) I know how tiring a huge role can be. (ok I was the understudy, Patty) (we call Stephen Patterson "Patty")

Katie is on a medical leave.  She last played in St. Louis and was scheduled to rejoin the tour here in Baltimore, but she told us this week that she is going to be out longer.  She is now coming back in June, and Susan Spencer will continue as Jo with Julie Foldesi performing the role "at certain performances".

Oh no! I hope Ms. Fisher is doing well, even though she is not up to performing yet. She was so inspiring... and, of course, astonishing! (I sent her a letter!) I'll be thinking good thoughts for her! However, congratulations to Ms. Spencer! I ALSO saw her as Jo (saw it twice in Sacramento!), and she was wonderful! Thank you for keeping us in the loop, Mr. Varela! I love reading the posts!

I'll have to agree with everything Katie Rose already said...except that I've never seen her perform, just Susan Spencer,and she was, in fact, wonderful. Again, thanks so much Mr Varela :P, I love reading the posts ;)...thanks Katie Rose for saying everything I was gonna say :P...
