« Cast - Janet Carroll Interview | Main | KEEP ON VOTING!!! »
You heard right.
Hi All-
As some of you have already written in to ask, here's the sad news-
LITTLE WOMEN will play it's last performance in New York on Sunday, May 22nd at 2 pm
There's more I could say, and probably will soon, but I just wanted to let you, our faithful friends hear something from us before the day ended.
Thank you all for so much support and love you've offered us over the past year.

While in NY on business, I saw 5 shows in week and Little Women was by far the best show I had the pleasure of seeing. The news of the show's closure is indeed very sad, but the cast and crew should be very proud of the work they've done. Congratulations on a great show everyone!

I am heartbroken that this show is closing. It was my very first musical on broadway and it will forever stay in my heart! Thank you so much to the cast and crew for all you have done! I know you have truly touched innumerable people with this incredible show. . . I being among them. This show has changed my life and has inspired me immensely. You should all be very proud of what you have created! My love and support goes out to all of you. . .

I saw the show last night--absolutely delightful. It's a shame it's closing, Broadway should find room for a show such as this. So nice to see so many different, and positive, female roles on stage.
Tell Sutton good luck at the Tonys!

I am so sorry to hear this news, as well. It's a shame, truly. I do hope that it's popularity boosts the tour, as I know there are many of us who do not live in or near NY and cannot see a Broadway show very easily, but would love to see it tour. I hope it comes to Houston sometime soon! Best wishes to everyone involved!

I was very upset when I heard that the show was closing. And so soon too! It's a wonderful production and I wish Sutton Foster all the best at the Tony awards this year!

I just wanted to say that I am so upset about the news of the closing... I just recived my Little Women CD in the mail and that same day I find out that my new favorite show is closing. It was a truly amazing and inspiring performance. I went to NY with my high school drama group, ECHOStage and we didn't really know what to expect from LW and it proved to be eveyone's favorite show and we saw 3 others that week. We are all very upset but I hope that the whole cast will consider the tour because you were all truly astonishing together!

IT'S TRULY A SHAME! AFTER SEEING SUTTON IN MILLIE, WHEN I HEARD ABOUT LITTLE WOMEN, I KNEW WE HAD TO BE THERE. FOR XMAS, I TOOK MY 4 DAUGHTERS TO ONE OF THE PREMIERS IN DECEMBER. WE SAT THERE HOLDING HANDS, CRYING, LAUGHING AND BEGAN THE LONG WAIT FOR THE ALBUM. WHEN I NEEDED TO CHEER UP MY "AMY" WHOSE BOYFRIEND WAS OUT OF THE COUNTRY, THE FIVE OF US WENT AGAIN! THE SHOW IN MARCH WAS EVEN BETTER BECAUSE WE COULD ANTICIPATE THE TEARS AND LAUGHTER AND SEE PARTS OF THE SHOW WE HAD CRIED THROUGH BEFORE. WHEN I ASKED MY DAUGHTERS IF THEY WANTED TO SEE CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, THEY SAID, OK, BUT CAN WE SEE LITTLE WOMEN AGAIN! BY THE WAY MY DAUGHTERS ARE 23, 21, 21, & 21 YEARS OLD! THE EXPERIENCE OF LW WAS THE GREATEST WE HAVE FELT ON BROADWAY. IT IS A SHAME THAT A BEAUTIFUL STORY WITH BEAUTIFUL MUSIC AND BEAUTIFUL CAST MEMBERS CANNOT STAND UP AGAINST SPECIAL EFFECTS. THANK YOU TO ALL INVOLVED WITH THE SHOW FOR WHAT WILL BE ONE OF OUR GREATEST MEMORIES. I HOPE THAT THEY FIND A WAY TO HAVE JO SING ON TONY NIGHT! THANKS.....AND IT IS REALLY ASTONISHING THAT THIS SHOW WILL BE GONE..........

I am sooo upset!!! I was going to see LW the next Sunday, the 29th (isnt it the 29th?) but yeah, that Sunday, and we had 18th row orchestra. I CANT BELIEVE ITS CLSOING! AND I REALLY WANTED TO MEET SUTTON AND THE REST OF THE CAST!!! but... some things are meant to be.

Wow, I can't believe it. I saw the show in April after spending the week in New York seeing eight other shows. They were all great, but none had the warmth and intimacy as "Little Women." That group of actors and musicians is so talented, I am just shocked that it is closing. I just want to say thank you to all of the cast for an awesome night of musical theatre, your show really sings! I wish you all the best and hope more of you join Maureen for the tour. Good luck to Sutton at the Tony's - PLEASE SING!!!
